The Regional Championship Race Meetings are not run under a Motorsport UK permit and as such, a licence is not required. However, as safety is our priority, we do require drivers to have reached a certain level of competency before they participate in a Regional Championship Race Meeting. As Pro Championship Race Meetings are run under a Motorsport UK permit, drivers need to apply for a Motorsport UK RS Clubman licence before participating. The RS Licence is not a proof of competency, is free of charge and can be applied for with MSUK online here. The process takes about 5 minutes and application guidance is here. If the driver already holds any Motorsport UK licence that is of a higher grade, that is acceptable.
We can supply PPE (race suit, helmet and gloves) for Pre-Season Testing and Open Practice sessions at both Regional and Pro events. However, please note we do not supply footwear. Drivers are advised to wear thin soled shoes that preferably cover the driver’s ankles. However, we do not supply PPE for Pro race meetings - drivers need to supply their own PPE that conforms to Motorsport UK minimum standards.

F.K.L. recognises that talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t. Our pre-season testing has introductory sessions on Saturdays for drivers who have little to no experience. The Regional Championship is perfect for drivers with some outdoor racing experience, while for the Pro, we recommend you have raced in at least two seasons of outdoor competitive karting.
