FAT Karting League is a global arrive-and-drive karting competition for drivers aged 5–17, designed by F1 engineers Rob Smedley and Ferdi Porsche to put talent first. We provide all karts, helmets, race suits, and safety gear — nothing extra to buy.
How It Works
Every driver races in equal machinery so results reflect skill, not budget. Our data-driven approach tracks performance across practice sessions, regional championships, and a pro series, giving every young racer a clear pathway from grassroots karting to professional motorsport.

FAT Karting League operates across multiple hubs worldwide:
- United Kingdom — Events at premier outdoor circuits across the UK. Half-day sessions from £195.
- Midwest USA — Racing at top karting tracks in Illinois, Indiana, and the greater Midwest. Sessions from $340.
- Southern California USA — Events at professional circuits across the greater Los Angeles and Southern California area. Sessions from $340.
- Texas USA — Events at premier tracks in and around the Dallas, Texas area. Sessions from $340.
About Us — Founded by F1 Engineers
FAT Karting League was founded by Rob Smedley, former Head of Vehicle Performance at Williams Racing and race engineer to Felipe Massa at Ferrari, alongside Ferdi Porsche, great-great-grandson of Ferdinand Porsche. Our mission is to democratise motorsport by removing the financial barriers that prevent talented young drivers from progressing. We believe the next world champion could come from anywhere — they just need a fair chance.
Our Team
Rob Smedley — CEO & Co-founder. Former F1 engineer who spent 20 years in Formula 1 with Jordan, Ferrari, and Williams.
Ferdi Porsche — Co-founder. Entrepreneur and motorsport enthusiast carrying on the Porsche family legacy in racing.
Ludovico Martin — Chief of Staff. Operations leader ensuring every event runs to the highest standard.
Beckie Carter — Chief Commercial Officer. Drives partnerships, brand growth, and commercial strategy.
