FAT Racing has completed its inaugural season in the 2026 Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA, bringing ten rounds of racing to a close at Brands Hatch last weekend.

With Jackson Wolny behind the wheel, the team’s first year on the British F4 grid has been one of learning, progress and milestone moments, from a breakthrough Rookie podium to recognition as one of the championship’s most determined overtakers.

From FKL to the British F4 grid

Just one year ago, Jackson was racing in the Midwest with FAT Karting League. After finishing P3 at the 2025 FKL World Finals, he progressed to FAT Racing’s multi-phase F4 Shootout, where he earned a fully funded seat in the 2026 British F4 season. Selected as the team’s inaugural driver, Jackson Wolny became FKL's first young racer to progress from FKL into FAT Racing, demonstrating the genuine pathway the programme was created to provide.

He began the season with limited experience in a Formula 4 car. Ten rounds later, he leaves with a championship under his belt, an F4 Rookie podium and a season’s worth of experience behind him.

Fighting to the final flag

The season finale at Brands Hatch brought one last challenge.

After recording his first DNF of the year, Jackson Wolny quickly recovered and gained positions in each of the remaining races. He crossed the line P20 in Race 2 before concluding his debut season with a P23 finish in Race 3.

Reflecting on the final weekend, he said “It’s crazy finishing my first year in an F4 car. It went by so fast.”

A message from Jackson

Before closing this chapter, Jackson Wolny shared a personal message for everybody who supported him throughout his debut season:

“Thanks to everyone that was supporting me. It means the world.”

A landmark Rookie podium

The standout moment of the season came at Donington Park in August, when Jackson Wolny secured P3 in the Rookie class and claimed his first British F4 podium. The result came less than a year after his P3 finish at the FKL World Finals, creating a fitting milestone in his journey.

The season’s leading overtaker

Jackson did not leave the final weekend empty-handed. He was presented with the Bell Overtake Award after completing the most overtakes across the 2026 season, earning a Bell HP77 helmet.

The next generation is racing now

Jackson Wolny’s debut campaign has written the opening chapter of FAT Racing’s story, but the search for the next young driver is already underway. Attention now turns to the 2026 FKL World Finals, where the next generation of eligible junior drivers will compete for the opportunity to follow his path and earn a place with the team next year.
